The New Tax System Price Exploitation Code (Western Australia) Bill 1999 and the New Tax System Price Exploitation Code (Taxing) Bill 1999

The WA Parliamentary Constitutional Affairs Committee reviewed the New Tax System Price Exploitation Code (Western Australia) Bill 1999 and the associated Taxing Bill. These bills aimed to prevent price gouging during the introduction of the GST by applying the Commonwealth's Trade Practices Act to individuals and partnerships not covered by federal law.
