Public Accounts Committee (1986 - 2001)· 25 May 2000estimates_report
The WA Public Accounts Committee recommends replacing the current Estimates Committees with three portfolio-based standing committees to improve budget scrutiny in the Legislative Assembly. This new model aims to enhance accountability, increase member expertise, and allow for examination of off-budget agencies and statements of corporate intent.
Impact
Members of Parliament, Ministers, government agencies, and ultimately the public will be affected. The changes aim to improve transparency and accountability in government spending.
