These regulations are the Fair Trading (Funeral Pricing Code of Practice) Regulations 2022. These regulations come into operation as follows — regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette; the rest of the regulations — on 1 May 2023. The code of practice set out in Schedule 1 is prescribed under section 45 of the Act as a code of practice that applies in relation to the supply of goods and services by funeral directors for burials and cremations. These regulations expire on 1 May 2026.
