The Shire of Augusta Margaret River requires owners/occupiers of land within the Shire to carry out fire prevention work as per Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, on or before 30 November 2025, and maintain the requirements up to and including 12 May 2026, except for APZs which must be maintained all year round. Inspections will occur from 1 December 2025. Non-compliance may result in a $250 infringement or a penalty up to $5,000.
