LG403 BUSH FIRES ACT 1954 Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley BURNING OF GARDEN REFUSE AND RUBBISH 2026 For the purposes of this clause, “Restricted Burning period” means from the 1st day of March through until the 14th day of January each year. Pursuant to Section 24G(2) of the Bush Fires Act 1954 the burning of garden refuse or rubbish is prohibited within the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley during the Restricted Burning Time unless the following conditions are met. • The burning of garden refuse or rubbish on the ground or in an incinerator that would otherwise be permitted under Section 24F is prohibited on all land under 2000m2 (square metres) in size during the Restricted Burning Time. • A Fire Permit issued under Regulation 15 of the Bush Fires Act 1954 is applied for and approved for burning of garden refuse or rubbish on the ground or in an incinerator that would otherwise be permitted under Section 24F during the Restricted Burning period. • During the Restricted Burning period, the burning of garden refuse or rubbish on the ground or in an incinerator in a single pile on the ground no larger than 2.0 m³) and by complying with all the conditions of section 24F (3) in the Bush Fires Act 1954 & Regulation 15B Bush Fires Regulations 1954. • Garden Refuse must be 100 percent cured prior to burning By order of the Council VERNON LAWRENCE, Chief Executive Officer. 124 GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, WA 9 January 2026
