In accordance with Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, you are required to carry out fire prevention work on land owned or occupied by you as set out in this Notice by the dates specified. If the requirements are not met, an on-the-spot fine of $250 may be issued, with a maximum fine of $5,000. Council can also carry out required works at the owner/occupier’s expense. Special requirements and alternatives are detailed, along with specific work required for different land categories.
