The Minister for Planning has granted approval to the declaration of a planning control area for the Byford Rail Extension as shown on Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) plan numbers 1.8019, 1.8020 and 1.8021. The purpose is to facilitate development of the land for Railway purposes, and to allow (if required) the future reservation of land in the Metropolitan Region Scheme. The declaration remains in effect for five years or until revoked by the WAPC with approval by the Minister.
