To assist in the control of bushfires, owners/occupiers of land in the City of Joondalup must remove flammable material and clear firebreaks by October 31 each year, and maintain them until May 31. Vacant land under 2000m² must be cleared to 50mm. Land over 2000m² requires 3m firebreaks. Alternative firebreaks require written notification by October 15. Prohibited burning: December 15 to March 31. Restricted burning: all year. Penalties apply for non-compliance.
