The rates published on 23 March 2012 in the Government Gazette are revoked and replaced with the following guideline rates based on diesel fuel cost of $1.57 per litre (metropolitan) and $1.58 per litre (regional). The guideline rates are based on standard, tray-top vehicles and fuel consumption data released by Australian Trucking Association. They do not set a minimum or maximum rate, and provide general guidance.
