The council of the Shire of Carnamah resolved on 19 May 2021 to make the Bush Fire Brigades Local Law 2021. This local law applies throughout the district and allows the local government to establish bush fire brigades, specify their areas of responsibility, and appoint officers. It also outlines the duties of the Captain and other officers, and addresses the maintenance and equipment of the brigades.
