Pursuant to Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, owners/occupiers of land within the City of Vincent are required to clear inflammable matter on or before October 31, 2023, and thereafter up to April 30, 2024. Land 2000m2 or less must be cleared of inflammable matter. Larger land requires 3m firebreaks. Burning garden refuse and lighting fires in the open air is prohibited between October 31, 2023, and April 30, 2024. Penalty for non-compliance is a fine of not more than $5,000.00.
