More than half of the offices of members of the council being vacant, all the remaining offices of members of the council are declared to be vacant. Jeffery Craig Gooding PSM is appointed to be the commissioner of the Shire of Derby-West Kimberley until the offices of members of the council are filled again and the new council holds its first meeting. The day fixed for any poll needed for the election of members to fill the vacant offices is 18 October 2025.
