Acting pursuant to the powers conferred by regulation 38B of the Rottnest Island Authority Regulations 1988, the Rottnest Island Authority (RIA) hereby closes the following waters to all vessels, excluding bona fide emergency and authorised vessels—Thomson Bay—Waters and Beach access Between 8:00am on Friday 17 November 2023 and 8:00am on Sunday 19 November 2023. All the waters within the specified coordinates and east of the Army Groyne. Beach closure from 120m east of the Army Groyne and extending for 280m further to the east. These restrictions have been introduced for the purpose of public safety.
