Under the letters patent relating to the office of the governor of the state of western australia dated 14 february 1986 clause xvi the governor has appointed the honourable chief justice wayne stewart martin ac to be the deputy of the governor and in that capacity to perform and exercise all of the powers and functions of the governor for the period 30 october 2017 to 3 november 2017 (both dates inclusive).
