The salaries and allowances tribunal has issued a determination to amend a clause relating to the reimbursement of travelling expenses by an elected member. The local government chief executive officers and elected members determination no. 1 of 2021, issued on 8 april 2021, under sections 7a and 7b(2) of the salaries and allowances act 1975, as amended from time to time, is hereby varied by a determination set out below. Remove the text as it appears under 8.2(5) of part 8: expenses to be reimbursed, and replace with the following— for the purposes of subsections (3) and (4), travel costs incurred while driving a privately owned or leased vehicle (rather than a commercially hired vehicle) are to be calculated at the same rate contained in section 30.6 of the local government officers’ (western australia) award 2021 as at the date of this determination.
