In accordance with section 7 of the Water Services Act 2012, Hon Dave Kelly MLA, Minister for Water, has granted a class exemption from section 5(1) of the Act in respect to drainage services provided by local government. A local government that provides a drainage service anywhere in the State is exempt from the requirement under section 5 of the Water Services Act 2012 to hold a water services licence. The exemption will come into effect on the day it is published in the Government Gazette and is valid for an indefinite period.
