The Minister for Planning approved Amendment No. 6 to the Shire of Mount Magnet Local Planning Scheme No. 2 on 4 November 2025. The amendment reclassifies a portion of Lot 556 Cemetery Road, Mount Magnet, from 'Public Open Space' to 'Special Use—Workers Accommodation'. It also amends Table 5—Special use zones to include 'Workers’ Accommodation' for Lots 555, 301, 557, 558, and a portion of Lot 556 Naughton and Cemetery Road, Mount Magnet, with conditions determined by the local government, and amends the Scheme Map accordingly.
