(1)     The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s (DPIRD) review will provide a report that will include:
·         An overview of the CRC network, including locations, functions and budget – both current and historic.
·         An analysis of previous reviews undertaken of the CRC program.
·         Clarity/recommendations on core functions of CRCs into the future.
·         Recommendations to improve the engagement/partnerships between State Government Agencies and the CRC network.
·         Options and a recommendation to meet the new budget.
(2)     The report from DPIRD is expected in early July 2018.
(3)     The report is being undertaken by DPIRD staff within the Industry and Economic Development Division. External services engaged to assist in the preparation of the report, mainly data collation, data analysis and data formatting is being provided at a cost of $37,553.22.
(4) & (5)     Stakeholders have been approached to provide feedback through a number of different means over the last few months, including:
·         meetings (which have occurred with either DPIRD staff or myself)
·         visits to CRCs
·         specific survey questions
·         open survey questions (CRCs)
·         written requests for feedback from stakeholders not part of the WACRN.
(6)     DPIRD’s report has not been finalised so the outcomes are not available at this time.
(7)     I propose to make available the content of the report, but I will first need consider the outcomes of the review and recommendations provided.
