The $131.4 million was the additional funding committed by the Government in the 2013/14 Budget.
In the 2014/15 Budget, the Government has committed a further $144.1 million over four years.
This funding will provide for increases in specialised mental health services in public hospitals to deliver mental health assessment, clinical intervention and rehabilitation across a range of community and hospital settings to reduce symptoms of mental illness and assist with recovery.
Total funding for public hospital services in 2014/15 is $586.0 million. This rises to $685.2 million by 2017/18. This funding in 2014/15 provides for 53,418 weighted activity units of activity costing $264.7 million, non-admitted services of $283.7 million, teaching, training and research of $18.1 million and a community service subsidy of $19.5 million.
