SENIORS — CONCESSION FUNDING
477. Mr M. McGOWAN to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. Why
did the Premier not have the courage to come to the seniors' forum on
Friday and listen to their concerns, and advise them that he was going to cut
their rebate, rather than doing it four days later after having not consulted?

AnswerView source ↗

The decision was made over the last
couple of working days. I was not invited to that forum, to the best of my
knowledge, but I was in Boddington. The minister responsible was there and he
spoke at length and answered questions.
Mr
M. McGowan : Which minister?
Mr
C.J. BARNETT : The Minister for Seniors and Volunteering; Local Government.
He was there. I understand that the
Leader of the Opposition behaved quite rudely and the Minister for Seniors and
Volunteering behaved professionally.
Mr
P. Papalia interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Warnbro, I call you to order for the first time.
