I refer to recommendation 24 of the Commissioner for Children and Young People’s Report on the
Inquiry into the Mental Health and Wellbeing of Children and Young People
from April this year, which refers to the unique problems that Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) children face when trying to access services. I refer also to the Evaluation of the Integrated Services Centre (ISC) Pilot Project, conducted in 2008, which recommended an expansion of this service to provide coordinated service delivery at other school sites, and I ask -
(1) Will the Minister commit to maintaining the ISCs at Parkwood and Koondoola?
(2) Will the Minister commit to expanding the ISC model to additional school sites, in collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Interests and the Department of Health, as recommended by the Commissioner for Children and Young People’s Report and the 2008 Evaluation?
(3) If no to (1), why not?
