(a) Following the General election in February 2005, ministerial officers employed pursuant to section 68 of the
Public Sector Management Act 1994
, and electorate officers employed pursuant to the
Parliamentary and Electorate Staff (Employment) Act 1992
were eligible to receive termination payments in accordance with their employment contracts. Funding of $1,700,000 was provided for payments to be made in 2004-05. A further $775,000 was provided in 2005-06 to allow for those ministerial officers that elected to defer their termination entitlements for three months beyond the day set for the return of the writ of election in the Legislative Assembly.
