I refer to the Minister’s statement in Parliament on 4 December 2013, and I ask: (a) on what date did the Department for Child Protection and Family Support assist the Halls Creek staff to make an application to the Department of Housing for repairs and maintenance; (b) on what date was this application assessed by the Department of Housing; (c) on what date was funding approved for the required repairs and maintenance; (d) on what date was the tender for required repairs and maintenance advertised; (e) what work was undertaken in 2013; and (f) what work is still to be completed in 2014?

(a) The Department for Child Protection and Family Support Contract Manager Officer in the East Kimberley has provided ongoing support and information to the service regarding submitting applications to the Department of Housing as required.
The Department of Housing has advised the following:
(b) In September 2010, some maintenance items were bought to the Department of Housing's attention and it arranged for the completion of electrical works. A further request was submitted in June 2011.
(c) The Department of Housing made an allocation of $300,000 in the 2012-13 financial year.
(d) January 2014. Tenders were delayed following the need to re-scope the schedule of works to comply with revised building codes.
(e) None, however, some urgent plumbing and electrical works were completed by the Department of Housing in 2012.
(f) Extensive maintenance and upgrade work including refurbishing the kitchens and bathrooms to comply with current building codes.
