In terms of the Department of Local Government and Regional Development, please be advised as follows:
(1) $110,000.00 and 1 creditor.
(2) No action was required. The invoice, dated 15 December 2006, was received on 29 June 2007 and paid on 17 July 2007.
In terms of the Department of Fisheries, please be advised as follows:
(1) $8,706.97 and 19 Creditors
(2) The Department attempts to pay creditors within 30 days, however, on occasions this is not possible and some of the situations giving rise to delayed payments are outlined below.
Invoice provided after invoice date by suppliers
Some creditors do not submit invoices for more than 30 days after the goods or services are supplied. The date recorded in the finance system is the date of the invoice (not the date the invoice is received) and therefore such invoices will appear as outstanding for more than 30 days even if they are paid on the day they are received.
Accounts in dispute
Accounts are not approved for payment until any dispute is resolved.
Grant payments
Grant payments are not made until the Department is satisfied that any required milestones have been met. This can cause delays in payment.
Misdirected invoices
Payment can be delayed if invoices are incorrectly addressed.
Consistent with Government policy the Department has, during the financial year, encouraged the greater use of the corporate credit card to effect payments, thereby significantly reducing the time elapsed between the provision of an invoice and payment to the supplier.
In terms of the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne Development Commissions, please be advised as follows:
(1) Nil
(2) No action was required
