State Government in response to COVID-19, and in particular
the $91.2 million in packages to support police during COVID-19, and I ask: (a) How much of the $91.2 million has been spent to
date; (b) How
much has been spent in Metropolitan Perth and in regional areas? Please provide
breakdowns according to Development Commission regions; and (c) If the full amount has not been spent, why not
and when is it expected to be spent?

The Western Australia Police Force advise:
(a) $4.23 million to 30 June 2020.
(b) The extra 150 police officers are to be deployed throughout the State with the allocation made by the Commissioner on the basis of operational need; the electronic monitoring devices are to be deployed State-wide, and 31 police vehicles fitted Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology are being deployed to regional areas.
(c) Funding of $23.326 million in 2020-21; $20.460 million in 2020-22; $21.273 million in 2022-23; and $22.080 million in 2023-24 has been allocated.
