I refer to the Genetic Services and ask -
(a) is the service attached to the King Edward Memorial Hospital/Princess Margaret Hospital;
(b) if so when was it assumed under the responsibility of King Edward Memorial Hospital/Princess Margaret Hospital;
(c) what is its current budget; and
(d) which Hospital or agency was it previously allocated to?

The Minister Replied:
(a) Yes.
(b) Genetic Services of Western Australia has always been based at KEMH/PMH.
(c) In 1999/2000 the MHSB allocated $1 320 429 to Genetic Services of WA. In 2000/2001 recurrent funding will be maintained and the HDWA will purchase a new Familial Cancer Service from the Genetic Services of Western Australia through the MHSB for an additional $700 000
(d) Not applicable.
