PASTORAL LEASES — RENT
673. Hon ROBIN SCOTT to the minister representing the
Minister for Lands:
(1) Will the
minister confirm that the Valuer-General determines pastoral lease rents using
a methodology that is based on sales evidence of pastoral leases and an
estimated return on the value of the unimproved land held under each pastoral
lease?
(2) Is the minister
aware of any advice that a rent based in part on an estimated return may
constitute a tax on income?
(3) Why have new pastoral rents to be effective from 1 July
2019 not yet been announced?

AnswerView source ↗

question.
(1) Yes.
(2) No.
(3) The values will not be finalised until 1 July
