Mifepristone (RU486) was prescribed for a total of 2,735 abortions in the calendar year 2019.

Mifepristone is not a specified method described on Form 1, the “Notification by Medical Practitioner of Induced Abortion”. Induced abortions comprise this total if Mifepristone was described in the notification in text for “Other” method of abortion.
Medical practitioners complete Form 1 at the time they prescribe the medication for abortion.
