I refer to the issuing of Property Identification Codes (PICs) by the Brands Office within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) and I ask: (a) What is DPIRDs policy on timeframes/wait times for the issuing of PICs; (b) What is the current wait time for the issuing of PICs at each DPIRD Brands Office; (c) How many staff are currently assigned to the issuing of PICs at each DPIRD Brands Office; and (d) What action is being taken to address the current backlog of PIC applications?

a)      PIC applications are processed according to order of receipt with consideration given to any urgent circumstances and expiry dates of individual PICs.
b)      Increased seasonal demand has resulted in delays to current processing of up to 3 months, however urgent applications and renewals continue to be processed in a timely manner.
c)      4 FTE.
d)      Other departmental officers are supporting the Brands office given the current high number of applications.
