In the Forest Management Plan Discussion Paper released by the Conservation Commission in January 2002, it is stated that there are 333 000 hectares of old growth forest left in the south-west of Western Australia (down from the 347 000 hectares the Department of Conservation and Land Management identified in the Regional Forest Agreement). Also in the Discussion Paper a map titled ‘Map 5, Origin of Conservation Reserve Proposals’ is presented -
(1) How much of the 333 000 hectares of old growth forest is within the existing and proposed conservation reserves set out in Map 5?
(2) How will the old growth forest outside the existing and proposed reserve be protected in accordance with Government policy?
