(2) Has the Department of Planning made a decision as to a preferred route for the planned Midland Freight Realignment; and
(a) if yes, which route is preferred; and
(b) if no, when will a decision be made?
(3) What steps will the Government take in the short-term to minimise noise and traffic issues related to the freight line in Midland/Woodbridge?
(4) How does the Government plan to give emergency vehicles uninterrupted entry points to the Midland Health Campus from the town centre?

(1) Funding to compensate landowners or to acquire land is sourced through the Metropolitan Region Improvement Fund.
(2) Yes.
(a) The Western Australian Planning Commission in April 2010 endorsed a preferred route option based on Military Road Alignment. Further work is required to determine a precise reservation for inclusion in the MRS.
(b) Not applicable
(3) The Transport portfolio is responsible for managing rail freight noise issues having due regard to State Government planning policy, so this question should be referred ot the Minister for Transport.
Traffic issues relating to the existing rail freight line will be resolved by the grade separation of Lloyd Street and the rail line as planned.
(4) The planned grade separation of Lloyd Street and the existing rail freight line will provide efficient access to the proposed Midland Health Campus for emergency vehicles.
