(1)-(4) The Department of Mines and Petroleum has advised me that information required to be submitted under the
Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994
indicates that 12 mines have ceased operations since 23 September 2008.
The mines that closed are shown in the table below.
The Department advises that this table also includes operations that may have been put on care and maintenance during the period. The table does not include completed construction and expansion projects related to ongoing mining operations, the closure of parts of ongoing mining operations, or temporary suspensions of intermittent mining operations.
