The North-West Aboriginal Housing Fund (NWAHF) is a State Government initiative supported by Royalties for Regions and the Commonwealth Government. The NWAHF aims to deliver innovative housing solutions to create pathways towards social and economic independence and wellbeing for Aboriginal people in the Pilbara and Kimberley.
The provision of housing to remove barriers to home ownership for Aboriginal people is just one of the outcomes the North-West Aboriginal Housing Fund is seeking to achieve. The North-West Aboriginal Housing Fund has also enabled the creation and delivery of culturally secure support services to support Aboriginal families build capacity to achieve their housing aspirations.
Through the NWAHF 115 dwellings have been added since 2018, 75 of which are in the Kimberley region and 40 in the Pilbara region.
