SCHOOLS — YOUTH WORKERS AND SOCIAL WORKERS
377. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Leader of the House representing
the Minister for Education:
I refer to the answer provided to
question without notice 1291, asked on 29 November 2022, regarding the total
number of youth workers and social workers currently employed in government
schools.
(1) Can the minister list the
schools where —
(a) youth workers; and
(b) social workers are currently
employed?
(2) If youth and
social workers are not located permanently on a school site, which schools do
they service?

(2) The School of
Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement youth workers support all
schools on an as-needs basis. The School of
Alternative Learning Settings youth workers are located at West Perth ,
Rockingham, Joondalup, Bunbury and Wattle Grove. Service allocation
prioritisation and coordination directorate
of statewide services supports students who may be experiencing challenges with
their mental health, behaviour and engagement in schooling. A social
worker service is delivered through North Metropolitan Education Regional
Office that engages with families if their child is not enrolled at a school,
and consults with schools that have attendance issues.
