VARANUS ISLAND GAS PLANT — ALLEGED INCIDENT
1063. Hon WILSON TUCKER to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Mines and Petroleum:
I
refer the minister to the answer to my question without notice dated Wednesday,
13 September 2023 in which the minister advised the house that the government
is unable to table the contents of an internal report it received from oil and
gas company Santos on 22 March 2023 into a potential oil spill on the basis
that a concurrent departmental investigation is still underway.
Will
the government release the contents of the internal report when the
departmental investigation has been completed?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
The regulator will determine
whether to release the report at the completion of the investigation.
