I refer to Question on Notice 1074 and the contract with Mr Filippo Raggi, and I ask: (a) has the contract with Mr Raggi been extended, and if so: (i) when was the contract extended; (ii) what is the timeframe of the new contract; and (iii) what are the employment and remuneration arrangements of the renegotiated contract, including entitlements and hours to be worked; (b) if no to (a), why not; (c) how have the outcomes of the work undertaken by Mr Raggi since January 2013 been measured; and (d) what are those outcomes?

The Department of the Premier and Cabinet advises:
(a) (i)-(iii) Mr Raggi's contract was extended on 1 January 2014 until 31 December 2014. The employment and remuneration arrangements in the contract are unchanged from the advice previously provided to Parliament.
(b) Not Applicable
(c) - (d) The Regional Director Middle East and Africa continually assesses the outcomes of this contract. Chief outcomes during the period have focussed on:
· relationship building and enhancing the profile of Western Australia;
Developed the State's profile in several African nations with a primary focus on mining and secondary focus on energy, agriculture and infrastructure and public works.
· client servicing and ground support for existing Western Australia clients;
The consultant has supported trade delegations from Western Australian based companies in the areas of agriculture, logistics and tertiary education.
· Western Australia's relationship with COMESA and Member Countries.
The Premier signed a memorandum of understanding with the COMESA in February 2014. The objectives of the memorandum include sharing knowledge and technology between Western Australia and the COMESA states across the fields of mining, petroleum and agriculture.
The consultant undertook considerable preparation in relation to the Premier's recent visit to Africa, accompanied the Premier to several of his meetings and provided valuable briefings.
