(2) If no to (1), -
(a) why not; and
(b) when will the new selection process be implemented?
(3) If yes to (1), -
(a) what is the criteria for membership of the selection panel to appoint a Principal in a school;
(b) what is the process for selection of a Principal to a school under the new system; and
(c) is the decision of the local selection panel for Principal final?
(4) If no to (3)(c), who makes the final decision on the appointment of Principal to a school under the new system?

(3) (a)The chair of the selection panel will constitute the panel in which he or she is confident the panel members understand the Local Merit Selection process and the OPSSC standards required. Relevant excerpts of policy and procedures will be provided to panel members as required and access to internal professional development and/or training will be available for external and internal panel members.
(b) Consistent with Public Sector Standards for recruitment and selection the process for the selection of a Principal to a school under the new system is : Vacancy cleared for advertising, subsequent to redeployment clearance; position advertised in local and or national newspapers and online at jobswa.gov.au; applications accepted; interviews conducted and referee checks undertaken; recommendation made.

(4) The selection panel makes a recommendation to the Director General or the Deputy Director General (under delegation) who endorses the recommendation.
