NORSEMAN GOLD — ALLEGATIONS INVESTIGATION
I refer the minister to question without notice 500, which relates to the PricewaterhouseCoopers investigation. (1) Can anyone submit evidence to the investigators? (2) If yes to (1), who should they contact and what are the contact details? (3) If no to (1) why not? Hon NORMAN MOORE

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) No. (2) Not applicable. (3) This investigation is focused on the adequacy of the Department of Mines and Petroleum’s responses to a number of specific complaints made to DMP by a union representative and an ex–mine worker in relation to certain mines in the eastern Goldfields. It is not a wide-ranging investigation into matters relating to the whole mining industry within Western Australia. If anyone wishes to submit to the investigators evidence that they believe falls within the limited scope of the investigation, they may contact Mr David Aiton, whose website address is [email protected], and he will pass on their request to submit the evidence to the investigators to consider. A decision on whether any such request is agreed to will be made solely by the investigators. In order to ensure the independence and integrity of the organisation, my office staff and I remain at arm’s length from the investigative process until the final report on its findings.
