785. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the powers granted to
authorised officers, pursuant to section 157(1), and emergency officers,
pursuant to section 184(1) of the Public Health Act 2016.
(1) Does the
department maintain a record of the number of instances that an officer gives a
direction to a person under sections 157(1)(j) or 184(1)(c) to undergo medical
observation, examination or treatment or to be vaccinated?
(2) Does the
department maintain a record of the number of instances when an officer or
police officer uses reasonable force under sections 158 or 185 to ensure that
the direction is complied with?
(3) Have the powers been used in
this calendar year?
(4) If yes to (3), on how many
occasions?
