I refer to urban canopy cover in the Perth and Peel regions, and I ask: (a) can the Minister confirm whether the Department has mapped canopy change
for existing street blocks, roads and parks separately from newly added land
use categories; (b) if yes to (a) will the Minister table that data; (c) will the Minister make the data of canopy and area for each land use category publicly
available through data.wa.gov.au, consistent with other state government datasets; (d) if no to (c), why not; (e) will the Minister commit
to release the canopy data for each land-use category; (f) if, as the Minister has previously stated, the data is publicly available, can he
identify the exact dataset or dashboard field where the geospatial layers or
classification files can be accessed; (g) can
the Minister please table a map of the area that was included in the analysis
that was used to arrive at the published percentage of canopy cover in the
2020 methodology; (h) can
the Minister please table a map of the area that was included in the analysis
that was used to arrive at the published percentage of canopy cover in the
2024 methodology; and (i) what
is the canopy cover of areas zoned urban or urban deferred for : (i) Perth; and (ii) Peel?
