I refer to the importation of exotic bird species into Western Australia from interstate and overseas, and I ask: (a) how many applications has the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) received to import exotic bird species currently prohibited in Western Australia in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021; (b) what is the current average length of time taken for processing such applications; (c) how many of the applications referenced in part (a) were successful and for what species; (d) how many of the applications are ongoing or outstanding, and in each case what period of time has elapsed since the application was received; (e) how many of the applications referenced in part (a) were unsuccessful and for what species; and (f) what reasons were given for the failure of applications identified in part (e)?
