CAHDS completes a multidisciplinary assessment and recommends further management through services that can work in partnership with the referrer. The assessment may include:
Psychosocial (the psychological and social factors that could influence someone’s mental health), Speech pathology, Occupational therapy, Neuropsychology and Psychiatric.
Since the 2023-24 reporting period, the Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorders Service has experienced a marked increase in the number of new client referrals, resulting in longer wait times. The Service is actively addressing the increased referrals and wait times through an increase in psychiatric support, actively recruiting staff to fill any vacant FTE and streamlining the current workflow.
