I refer to Budget Paper No. 2, Volume 1 at page 372 "Services and Key Efficiency Indicators", line item Regional and remote policing services, and ask: (a) why was the 2013-14 budget projection of 1,988 full time equivalent (FTE) employees not met; (b) of the additional 52 FTE employees forecast for this financial year, will any be based in each of the South West Police District, Peel Police District and Great Southern Police District; and (c) if yes to (b), how many additional employees will be based in each district, at which police stations and in what positions?

(a) The variance between the 2013-14 budget projection and the estimated actual is due largely to the Voluntary Separation Scheme in 2013-14, which was not included in the 2013-14 budget projection.
