This afternoon, in answer to question without notice 1623 that I asked of the minister, the minister said - The 167 gigalitres of ground water requested from the Water and Rivers Commission for 2003-04 is considered to be maximum extraction for a reasonable balance between environmental issues and water supply requirements. Who, or which organisation, considered that amount of water to be a reasonable balance? Was it the Water and Rivers Commission, the Water Corporation, or the minister? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS
