The Statement of Commitment is an important step in securing long-term reconciliation between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Western Australians. The Government is also providing specific reconciliation funds through the Department of Indigenous Affairs ($105,000) to support local community reconciliations projects and a further $90,000 through the Department of Education for a reconciliation van.
