(1) Since the 2021–22 financial year, how many prisoners in Western Australia have been transferred from custody to a hospital or other external facility for medical reasons? (2) Of those identified in (1): (a) how many remained under active Corrective Services custody (with officers present or other security arrangements in place); (b) how many were released from custody indefinitely or placed on temporary leave orders; and (c) how many did not return to custody following their hospitalisation or external placement? (3) Since the 2021–22 financial year, how many instances have occurred where criminal charges against a prisoner were discontinued, withdrawn, or dropped while they were outside a prison facility for medical or other reasons? (4) For each of the instances identified in (3), was the decision to discontinue charges linked to: (a) the prisoner’s medical condition; (b) custodial management considerations; and (c) prosecutorial discretion or other court-ordered reasons?

Compiling this information would demand diverting staff away from their operational duties and as a consequence, it is not considered to be a reasonable or appropriate use of resources. I note the Member asked 17 different questions of similar nature in length concurrently.
