CANNABIS, 100-GRAM LIMIT
I do not have any difficulty standing up with the Liberal Party against drugs. Will the Premier give a guarantee to the people of this State that he will not raise the 100-gram limit in the Misuse of Drugs Act so that possession above 100 grams will be deemed not to be trading? Dr GALLOP

I repeat: the Community Drug Summit came up with some recommendations and the Government has endorsed those recommendations. Those recommendations will now go to a ministerial committee to work out the details of how they will be applied and those details will come to the Parliament. They will be fully debated in this Parliament. I repeat that two fundamental points have been ignored by the Opposition in its deliberate campaign of misinformation: firstly, cannabis will remain illegal and there will be civil penalties; and, secondly, the full force of the law and all of the criminal penalties associated with it will apply to drug traffickers.
