Affairs:
I refer to submissions on the proposed amendments to the
Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972.
(1) Which
Department of Indigenous Affairs officers or consultants are or will be
involved in the analysis of all the submissions and comments and the
development of the final report?
(2) What role
does or will the Department of State Development—DSD—as the
lead agency, or the DSD heritage officer–project manager, have in
evaluating the report or having input into the final report?
(3) When will
the final report be finalised?
(4) Which
state and federal government agencies, industry bodies, Indigenous bodies or
Indigenous people will be consulted during the preparation of the final report?

once all submissions and comments have been received and reviewed. The
Department of State Development is not the lead agency for the reform of the
Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972. The Department of Indigenous Affairs will
continue to consult relevant agencies and bodies after the submission period has
ended.
