(a) The facility has been closed temporarily to allow for a refurbishment and a review of service model to be undertaken of the three co-located services. These include the Anawim Refuge, Karlamia Day Centre and Karlamia Night Shelter.
(b) The Lane Street facility will be closed until 31 December 2009.
(c) Whilst all staff were offered other employment within Ruah Community Services not all staff chose this option and seven staff opted for redundancies. Seven casual staff were offered the option to be placed in the casual pool in other program areas.
(d) Ruah Community Services has developed an Interim Service Delivery plan to ensure services continue to be available for Aboriginal women during the review and refurbishment period. The Karlamia Day Centre continues to operate from another site within Ruah Community Services, Anawim Refuge continues to provide crisis housing through other Ruah Community Services properties and alternative arrangements are in place with the Salvation Army in Perth and The Sisters' Place in Fremantle for women who would otherwise access the Karlamia Night Shelter.
