I refer to an increasing difficulty that some Members of the Opposition are experiencing in gaining the assistance of the Government Media Office (GMO) to provide media transcripts promptly and courteously. Will the Premier please advise -
(1) Does the GMO have guidelines to operate under that specify their response time to requests by Members of this House for radio or other media transcripts?
(2) Does the GMO have guidelines that specify their response time to Members of the Government, Ministers or Ministerial Offices?
(3) If the GMO does have response time guidelines, is there a difference between these two expectations of response time?
(4) In the interests of open and accountable Government, will the Premier undertake for the GMO to establish a response timeline objective, that is equitable to members of Government and Opposition alike, and ensure these are being achieved?

In the year 2000, under the previous Liberal Government, 174 items were provided to the Parliamentary Library. By 2005 that had increased to approximately 760 items and, so far this year, at least 694 items have been provided.
